Virtual Asset (VA) Standards

Shipfinex's VA Standards ensure that all Marine Asset Tokens (MATs) & Virtual Assets (VAs) listed on its platform comply with the highest regulatory, technical, and financial standards, aligned with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) requirements.

VA Listing Standards

  1. Regulatory Compliance:

    • All VAs must comply with VARA regulations and other applicable laws, including AML/CFT and sanctions frameworks.

    • VAs must not be prohibited by VARA or other relevant authorities.

  2. Market Characteristics:

    • The VA must meet minimum thresholds for liquidity, market capitalization, and fully diluted value.

    • It must have clear utility, use cases, and community interest.

  3. Security and Technical Standards:

    • The underlying DLT protocol must demonstrate immutability, security, and resistance to vulnerabilities like 51% attacks or protocol errors.

    • Smart contracts must be audited for integrity and compliance.

  4. Issuer Due Diligence:

    • The issuer’s background, including their experience, reputation, and adherence to regulatory standards, is thoroughly vetted.

    • No history of fraud, market manipulation, or other illicit activities.

  5. Risk and Conflict of Interest:

    • Potential risks, including conflicts of interest, price manipulation, and operational challenges, are identified and mitigated.

  6. Rights and Enforcement:

    • Clear, enforceable rights for token holders must be established, including transparency in asset ownership and earnings distribution.



Ongoing Compliance

  1. Periodic Reviews:

    • All VAs are re-evaluated semi-annually to ensure they meet the above standards. Deviations may result in suspension or delisting.

    • Continuous monitoring for compliance with market, regulatory, and operational benchmarks.

  2. Transaction Monitoring:

    • Real-time monitoring of transactions for AML/CFT compliance and reporting of suspicious activities.

  3. Investor Protection:

    • Regular performance reports and real-time updates are provided to token holders, ensuring transparency in earnings and asset conditions.



Delisting Policy

  • VAs failing to meet compliance or performance standards will be delisted. Shipfinex ensures immediate investor notification, suspension of trading, and regulatory reporting.
